Yemeni court to issue verdict in terror case next month

The Specialized Penal Court in Sana'a has decided to issue the verdict in the case of Yemeni defendant Hisham Mohammad Asim, who is accused of killing a French engineer, to 17 January.
US-born terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki and terrorist Othman al-Awlaki are also tried in the same case as fugitives from justice.On 2 November, during the first session of the defendants' trial, the prosecution accused the defendants of participating in an armed gang to target foreigners in Yemen and affiliation with Al-Qaeda.The prosecution accused the first defendant Asim of killing French engineer Javur Henry - who used to work for the Austrian oil company OMV in Sana'a - on 6 October.It also accused the second and third defendants Anwar and Othman al-Awlaki of inciting Asim to carry out the crime.The confessions of the first defendant that were reported by the prosecution from the records of evidence and investigation stated that Asim was corresponding with terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki, who was inciting Asim to kill the Americans and Europeans working at the OMV Company
