http://www.english.hadhramaut.info US Congress delegation to visit Yemen soon [The Source: SANA'A/hadhramut.info/sabanews.net - 27/12/2010] An ad hoc committee from the US Congress will visit Yemen to get acquainted with the parliamentary and legislative action, the US ambassador to Yemen Gerald Feierstein said on Monday. During his meeting with the Minister of State for Parliamentary and Shura Council Affairs Ahmed al-Kuhlani, Feierstein said that the congress committee would hold talks with members from parliament and Shura council on setting up cooperation programs between the two sides in legislative and supervisory fields.The US diplomat emphasized that the American assistance to Yemen will be doubled in the future in the various political and economic and development fields.He stressed the importance of strengthening the relationship between the two countries in different fields, topped by the intended cooperation between the US Congress and Yemen's Parliament and Shura council.For his part, al-Khuhlani urged to enlarge the fields of the American assistance to the government, especially in areas of democracy and development. He asserted the importance of qualifying the assistants of the Parliament's committees to be sufficient in collecting and analysing the requisite information and in proving all the logistic support for the members.
