Minister for Human Rights has stressed the importance of establishing successful solutions to protect childhood from the impacts of armed conflicts which children have nothing to do with their goals and reasons.
In her speech to the 4th Arab meeting on child rights currently held in Marrakech, Morocco, Huda al Ban also urged to assess the past period work on promoting child protection within the Arab plan approved at 2004 Arab summit in Tunisia. The plan is an Arab commitment towards all child issues, she said. Moreover, she reviewed Yemeni and Arab efforts to implement child sustainable development, especially in healthcare, education, protection and participation areas.I hope this conference will largely contribute to consolidating and activating the Arab common work mechanisms to serve the issues of our children, she said."The event is of greet importance as it is spotting light on crucial issues related to safe childhood and addressing issues related to destructive impacts facing children under conflicts or occupation."Al Ban highlighted the suffering of the Palestinian children under the Israeli occupation and arrogance, with a focus on those in bad health conditions inside Israeli jails. The suffering of Palestinian children starts at the time of their brutal arrest and jail treatment which has physical and psychological affects through their lives, she added. All Israeli acts against the detained Palestinian children violated all international human and child rights accords, she concluded.
