Prison sentence of 7-10 for four defendants upheld

The Specialized Criminal Court in the capital Sana'a upheld Saturday the prison sentence of 7-10 years for four defendants convicted of forming an armed gang.
The gang planned to commit criminal acts against tourists and military and security leaders and foreign and government interests in the capital Sana'a. At the hearings presided by Judge Mohamed al-Hakimi, the court upheld the prison sentence of 10 years for each of Hussein Nasser Ali al-Marwlah and Hani Mohamed Ali al-Alimi, and the prison sentence of 7 years for each of Yousef Mohamed Hassan al-Hajjaji and Abdullah Ahmed Ali al-Matari. The court also decided to ease prison sentence for the defendant Mohamed Ali Qasem al-Goli from ten to seven years, and the defendant Ameen Abdullah Ali al-Najar from seven years to five years, while the court rejected the resumption of the seventh defendant Muteib Saleh Abdulaziz al-Qadi, sentenced to imprisonment five years. The Specialized Primary Criminal Court in the capital Sana'a convicted in last January the seven members of al-Qaeda over participating in an armed gang to commit criminal acts targeting tourists and military and security leaders and foreign and government interests in the capital Sana'a.
