The Fourth Annual Conference on Higher Education
and Scientific Research is to start on Saturday at the University of Hodeidah
under the motto " Higher education challenges in the Arab world..
innovative solutions"..
With
participation of 200 deans of Yemeni universities and representatives of Arab
and Islamic universities ,ministries of general and technical education, civil
services and insurance, and planning and international cooperation and the
World Bank, the two-day conference will discuss 19 studies and papers of local,
Arab and foreign researchers and international organizations.Speaking to Saba, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Saleh
ba-Sura made it clear that the studies and papers focus on the modern
techniques of information and communication in the higher education, innovation
in the quality of higher education, upgrading the academic accreditation in
Yemeni universities, and assessing outputs of education in Yemen, as well as
the compatibility of scientific research to the development needs and
requirements of the private sector.
According to ba-Sura, the conference would review local, regional and
international experiences on how to face the higher education challenges, and
the social participation in facing these challenges. He considered the conference an opportunity for decision makers and leaderships
of higher education ministries and heads of higher education institutions and
faculty members to identify the most important challenges that face the higher
education through the recommendations of the conference.
