IOM announcement was made by IOM Emergency and Post Conflict Officer Mario Lito Malanca during his meeting with Minister of Interior Mutahar al-Masri. Malanca said that the IOM assistance to Yemen is aimed to enable Yemen to return the illegal African migrants home in few days.The IOM officer praised the security efforts of the Interior Ministry to facilitate the organization's tasks in returning the illegal African migrants home safely. He also hailed the current cooperation between Yemeni government and the organization in various areas, particularly in issues of illegal migrants.The Minister extolled the organization's efforts and support in returning such migrants home, accenting the Ministry's keenness to overcome all difficulties impeding the implementation of the IOM's tasks to help illegal migrants, especially those are stranded in Haradh border area.Al-Masri also ordered to form a joint committee from the Interior Ministry and the IOM to follow up the return operation as soon as possible.Moreover, al-Masri and Malanca talked about the coordination with the concerned bodies in easing the voluntary return of illegal migrants coming from the Horn of Africa.
