http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Russian Archaeological mission resumes exploration in Socotra [The Source: SOCOTRA/hadhramaut.info - 07/11/2010] Russian archaeological expedition on Sunday resumed survey of the archaeological and ethnographic in the archipelago of Socotra, and the work of exploration in the settlement of (Hajarah) west of Hudeibo City. The work will continue  until the 26 of November President of the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums, Dr. Abdullah Bawazir  clarified to Yemen News Agency (SABA) that the Russia Archaeological Mission headed by Dr. Vitaly Naumken, will begin on Sunday the work of archaeological survey in the archipelago of Socotra, and further excavations in the settlement of (Hajarah ) west of the city Hadibo He  went on indicating  that the Mission program of work is focused on continuing with Archaeological, linguistic studies and Ethnographic of the (dialects, customs and traditions) in the archipelago of Socotra, in areas    surrounding Hadibo, as well as to continue the archaeological work in the settlement of (Hajara) at a distance of 5 kilometers west of Hadibo. Dr. Bawazir also noted the importance of the continuation of such scientific studies of Socotra archipelago by the Russian Archaeological Mission and its interest in local culture, as it represent an important, vital and important part of the culture of the Yemeni homeland. .The resumption of Russian  Archaeological Mission that consist of  12 researchers in Socotric  language  and Archaeological excavations, comes  as a continuation of  past  ancient research Seasons  in collaboration with the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums.  Last year the mission year, did surveys work in Archaeological digging in Socotra and the settlement Hajarah in Hedeibo. This resulted in the disclosure of historical era rooted in the past, through its findings  of art,  artifacts, utensils, pots, pottery, ceramics and the remains of animal bones, shells, husks that goes back  to the ancient period of the  (14 and 15) centuries after  birth , and another one  goes back to the Ancient  periods.
