http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Yemen re-invites int'l companies to partake in 3rd oil conference [The Source: SANA'A/hadhramaut.info/sabanews.net - 03/10/2010] Minister of Oil and Minerals Ameer al-Aidarous renewed on Sunday the call for international companies and interested businesspeople to participate in the 3rd Conference for Oil, Gas and Minerals to take place in Sana'a during 18-19 October. In a press conference held today, the minister said that the conference will present 10 investment opportunities in the field of oil and gas of 10 new oil blocks for qualified companies as well as 10 other investment opportunities in the field of minerals.He noted that 65 work papers will be raised in the conference by international companies, affirming that this participation gives a clear indicator of the desire of companies to take part as they know that Yemen oil future is promising. Al-Aidarous made clear that there will be a chance, on the sidelines of the conference, for interested companies in exploration and production through negotiation, not competition, as a new procedure the ministry by which intends to facilitate competition process and give a greater importance to exploration sector.
