http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Authorities checking and modernizing Marib Power Station [The Source: SANA'A/hadhramaut.infor/sabanews.net - 11/09/2010] The authorities started on Saturday checking and modernizing the electronic control system of Marib Gas-Fired Power Station, first stage, and the processes required shutting down the station for two days, an official at the Public Electricity Corporation said. Director General of Gas Projects Implementation Unit at the corporation, Khalid Rashid, said the two processes can't be implemented except while the station is shut down. A team including Yemeni and Siemens experts is carrying out the check and modernization processes, he said, pointing out that the timing was suitable during the Eid vacation when electric loads are reduced.The station launched in May supplies 30 per cent of Yemen's electricity.
