http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Govenor briefed on fair perparation [The Source: www.hadhramaut.info - 12/7/2008] Mr / Salim Ahmed Alkhanbashi - governor of Hadramout province- was briefed yesterday on the ongoing preparations for launching the activities of the first International Book Fair which will start on July 13th and last until July twenty fourth  . The governor urged  ,during his meeting with Mr / Abdulhakeem Saleh Bin Qadeem ,Director General of the book's general Authority, to the need to take advantage of this important cultural event and make it a stopping point to restore history and  cultural heritage and civilization, which  is characteristic of Hadhramaut which gave birth to  renowned literary figures home and abroad. The governor Alkhanbashi urged all relevant agencies to ensure the success of the exhibition activities and maintain the same team spirit  to demonstrate the features and effects and cultures of Hadramout to inform the participants in the exhibition on the characteristics of Hadhramaut. The governor Alkhanbashi pointed to the local authority support for maintaining the success of the exhibition of what would increase the science and knowledge among the people, calling on the sons of Hadhramaut not to miss the opportunity and take advantage of this cultural event. For his part, Professor  Abdulhakeem Saleh Ben-Qadeem  Director General of the General  Book Authority in Hadhramaut confirmed that the body had good preparation and readiness during  meeting of participating delegations and local and Arab publishing houses  that seem ready to display books and scientific knowledge in various fields, pointing out that the conference and exhibitions rooms in the  University of Hadramout are on utmost readiness to receive visitors  during the opening of the exhibition next Sunday. Mr\ Ben-Qadeem thnked Governor Alkhanbashi for his personal following and simplifing the many difficulties encountered in the exhibition. The Union of Writers and literary people in  Mukalla, Hadramout Branch, has organized a cultural evening entitled "The importance of writers and cultural scene, Hadramout" in which writers and intellectuals talked about the culture and giving  march  Hadramout was known for since antiquity that have influenced cultural aspect of Yemen and the Arab world in general. They stressed that the book is still occupies its niche as a token basis for further knowledge in the fields despite the considerable momentum created by a computer, the Internet.They further called on writers and intellectuals to make the exhibition a chance for Hadhramaut to regain its  literary and cultural prestige .
