http://www.english.hadhramaut.info IOR-ACR kicks off meetings in Sana'a [The Source: SANA'A/ hadhramaut.info/sabanews.net - 31/07/2010] Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Muthana opened on Saturday activities of the 10th conference of the Indian Ocean Rim-Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC). The conference started by two meetings for the Academic Work Group and the Sub-Committee for Senior Employees with the participation of representatives of the 18 member countries.In the opening speech, Muthana welcomed the participants in Yemen for holding this conference, affirming the significance of the conference to come out with recommendations promoting cooperation among the Association's members in various areas.Participants in Academic Work Group discussed the academic and cultural cooperation issues among the members including the related issues to the mobile university and activities of the Regional Information Center for Science and Technology, in addition to issues concerning the protection of the maritime environment, headquartered in Iran.Head of International Organizations and Conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Hajar pointed out to Saba that the participants approved a memorandum of understanding over the mobile university and future projects and programs of the Regional Information Center for Science and Technology.The participants also approved to set up a regional center for studies to promote cooperation among the IOR-ARC member states in the domains of studies and researches.
