http://www.english.hadhramaut.info FM: We wish to reach formula to activate Arab joint work [The Source: SANA"A/hadhramaout.info/sabanews.net - 25/06/2010] President Ali Abdullah Saleh will participate in meetings of the Committee of Five in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, to discuss the Yemeni initiative over the establishment of the union of the Arab states in accordance with his presented initiative to the recent Arab summit in Libya.

Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi has affirmed that meetings of the committees resulting from the 22nd round of the Arab League will be launched in June 27 with the participation of the member countries in the Committee of Five which are Yemen, Egypt, Libya, Qatar and Iraq with the participation of the Arab League Secretary General Amr Mousa.
In an interview with Saba, al-Qirbi made clear that meetings of the Committee of Five are based on decisions taken by the Arab leaders in the last summit in the Surt city of Libya which stipulated the formation of a committee of five tasked with the preparation of a document to improve the Arab joint work.According to al-Qirbi, the last period witnessed preparatory meetings as well as discussions over this file, topped by the ministerial meeting of the Arab foreign ministers in Cairo.Asked about differences among the member countries in the Committee of Five, the minister explained that those differences were limited shown by willingness of some Arab countries to keep the Arab League as it is and to add some new protocols to its convention to upgrade the Arab League to the level of the union of the Arab states.The minister said that Yemen wishes that the Arab leaders who will take part in meetings of the Committee of Five agree on a unified vision to activate the Arab joint work to keep pace with the regional and international changes in order to promote the Arab common work.
