The consultative meeting is organized by the Higher Authority for Monitoring Tenders in cooperation with the World Bank (WB) and the Project to modernize the public finance. Head of the Higher Authority for Monitoring Tenders Abdul Malik al-Arashi told Saba that the aim of the meeting is to brief the leaders of the central authority and a number of officials in the WB on the authority's plan and the actions taken by the authority to achieve the equality, transparency and the economic efficiency in the bidding procedures.Issues would be discussed during the meeting related to the work of bids, topped by the law of tenders and auctions, and introducing the authority and its functions, work plan, achievements and needs, as well as reviewing some wrong practices in the application of the law and actions taken by the authority to correct these violations, al-Arashi added.He pointed out that the meeting would also review the project of information system of the authority and the steps taken by the British consulting firm (Crown Agent) in charge of supervising the implementation of the project that would be implemented in three phases. Furthermore, al-Arashi indicated that the authority would launch in next June a website that allows all beneficiaries from agencies, contractors, suppliers and citizens in general to communicate with the authority and facilitates the delivery of information to them.
