The Women's Forum for Research and Training has issued a book entitled "To Claim Rights to Seek Justice ..", the first book in Arabic for female defenders of human rights and their protection mechanisms
The book issued in cooperation with the Women Center for Global Leadership at the U.S. University of New Jersey provides an inclusive picture of the environmental and cultural framework, laws ,fundamentalism ,religious extremism, nationalism, and globalization and its impact on the defenders. It also reviews the mechanisms and skills in the documentation and use of international instruments and mechanisms for monitoring the implementation of human rights and determines what assistance is available internationally for the defenders and what they suffer during conflict and transition and post-conflict, and the concept of accountability and others.Head of the Women's Forum for Research and Training Dr. Suad al-Qadasi made it clear to Saba that the book targets the defenders themselves to develop their practical experiences and knowledge to assist them in the scientific documentation and use of the local, regional and international mechanisms for their protection in addition to the book combines the defenders in the world when used as a guide and approach. She added the book is the fruit of the work of a number of women leaders in the world and the outcome of the recommendations and proposals of a lot of global conferences since 2003, which stressed the need to focus on human rights defenders and to mobilize the energies and resources to support them and develop mechanisms of protection that are more responsive to their needs. The forum assumed printing and issuing the Arabic version of this book in collaboration with the American Women Center due its belief in the need to provide the valuable information in Arabic for the Arab human rights defenders, al-Qadasi indicated.
