Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakel launched Sunday a new system of registering agencies, companies and trade brands at a total cost of YR65 million.
The system is carried out in cooperation with UNDP and the Netherlands' government.

Al-Mutawakel told Saba that the system would develop services offered to commercial companies and ensure efforts of attracting local and foreign investments. He affirmed concern of the government to develop promising sectors to realize goals of improving incomes and tackle underpayment as well as creating jobs.

The minister expected that many commercial companies would invest in Yemen particularly after amending Trade Law to allow non-Yemenis to open their business without the need for a Yemeni partner.

"In the coming days, delegations from different Arab and foreign countries would visit Yemen to see opportunities of opening business in Yemen," he said.

Deputy minister of industry and trade Iqbal Bahadar said that the system would reduce procedures of registering business which were carried outmanually. Through this system, businessmen could send their requests via email and get all features granted for companies.
