At the conference outset, Commander of the Air Forces and Air Defense Brigade Pilot Mohamed Saleh al-Ahmar noted in his speech the distinct roles of the air forces in carrying out the tasks assigned to them efficiently and competently. He praise the great victories they have achieved in wiping out the strongholds and nets of the insurgency elements in Saada province and Harf Sufian district of Amran province in a strong and effective support to the armed forces and security units stationing in the province.The insurgents have exceeded all norms and traditions thorough killing and displacing innocent children, women and elderly people, affirming that the rebels are fighting for a foreign agenda, al-Ahmar added. The conference reviewed in Tuesday session the plans and programs implemented during 2009 by the department and the relevant divisions of the air forces and air defense and the accompanying pros and cons.
