http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Yemen, donors review secondary education project [The Source: www.sabanews.net - 15/11/2009] A workshop of joint review committee for secondary education and girls enrolment project organized by Education Ministry in cooperation with donors launched here on Sunday. In the four-day workshop, Deputy Minister of Education Abdullah al-Hamdi affirmed the importance of obligating and unifying all the efforts to succeed the project. He also noted to the significance of the project in improving the quality of secondary education as well as in preparing the high school graduates for the labor and university's stage.For his part, the project manager Ahmed al-Arashi pointed out that the project's performance would be discussed twice a year, affirming the importance of gaining all advantages from such review to address the Ministry and donors' performance.The World Bank (WB) Education officer Aisha Fouda reviewed the relations between donors and the Ministry to carry out the secondary education development and girls' enrolment project.The project aims to bridge the gender gap in education as well as to prepare the high school graduates for the coming stage, Fouda said.
