Development with total cost of KD12 million dinars, is undoubtedly a significant step comes under the leadership of His Excellency President Ali Abdullah Saleh and through his platform matrix as well as the trends of the government towards creating a real development in   the agriculture and fisheries sectors as a great source of food security in our country.
 The General Manager of Agriculture and Irrigation Office in Hadramout, Eng.Mohammed Abdun said that project aims to optimize the use of water resources, improving the efficiency of irrigation by means of introducing modern irrigation systems, protecting the agricultural land from erosion and degradation and introducing new crop patterns to suit the current crop structure.
Mr.Abdun pointed out that the targeted projects will include building 8 dams made of  different kinds of building materials like concrete and stones. The height of the dams is from 23 to 35metres with storage capacity from 700,000 to 720,000 cubic meters of water. The dams will be built in Aryaf Al-Mukalla,Broum Mayfa'a,Ghyel Bawazeer and Sheher.
On the other hand, the manager of the Office of the Ministry of Fishing Wealth,Abas Al-Zubidi  noted that the fishing side will benefit from the project through increasing the annual production of fish by providing the fishermen with modern and large boats, creating new job opportunities and increasing the number of fishermen.
Mr.Zubidi added KD 2million dinars was allocated for developing Shehar Port.
Both officials were share the view that the project will herald a leap in the two vital sectors.
