Minister of Information Hassan al-Lawzi held talks on Monday with the US ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Seche, over mutual cooperation relations between the two countries and means of supporting and improving them, especially in information and journalism cooperation.

The two sides reviewed freedom of the press in Yemen, democratic manner, human rights, respect of information policy obligation.The US ambassador presented a summary about basic tasks which are being held by the embassy including preparing of an annual report about human rights and freedom of the press, confirming the embassy's concern on the ministry's point of view with regards to freedom of information and press.On his part, al-Lawzi hailed the strong cooperation ties linking Yemen and US and its support for development, and its readiness to provide further support to improve free press.Al-Lawzi made talked about the ministry's obligation to apply press and printing law and its support and care for the freedom of press as well as activities of civil societies working in information, press and human rights fields.
