http://www.english.hadhramaut.info UNDP awards $6 million for flood damages [The Source: www.yobserver.com - 13/09/2009] Yemen and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have signed an agreement to help rebuild certain regions in Hadramout and al Maharah provinces which were badly affected by flooding in October of 2008.

Under the terms of the agreement, the UNDP will accord $2 million (of the $6 million pledged for the coming four years) to support those affected by the flood, especially farmers and women.
 The agreement was signed by the deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Hicham Sharaf, and the UNDP resident representative in Yemen, Pratibha Mehta.
