http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Shabwa relief convey reach Sa'ada displaced people [The Source: sabanews.net - 13/09/2009] A relief convoy arrived in Amran governorate coming from Shabwa governorate as support for the displaced people fled from Sa'ada rebellion and also for armed forces fighting against insurgence. The convoy consists of 25 trucks contain different medicines, foodstuffs and relief materials.
It is worth to mention that several governorates have sent relief convoys to alleviate the suffering of Sa'ada displaced people, who escaped to adjacent governorates.Fighting has broken out in the mid of August between government forces and supporters of rebel leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi in Sa'ada.This is the sixth major conflict between the government forces and the rebels in Sa'ada governorate since 2004. Thousands of people, soldiers and insurgents have been killed in Saada province, which is located close to border with Saudi Arabia.Hussein al-Houthi, the eldest brother of the current group leader Abdul-Malik, was killed by the army in September 2004.The Yemeni government accuses the Houthi group of trying to reinstall the rule of imams, which was toppled by a republican revolution in northern Yemen in 1962.
