http://www.english.hadhramaut.info GPC re-calls on JMP for serious dialogue [The Source: sabanews.net - 11/09/2009] Congress Party (GPC) re- called on Thursday opposition Joint Meeting Parties JMP and civil society organizations(CSOs) for serious and responsible dialogue over issues and challenges facing unity and democracy of the nation.



In a press conference, GPC assistant secretary general for political affairs and foreign relations Sultan al-Barakani and GPC assistant secretary general for culture and information Ahmed Bin Daghar said that the ruling party adopted dialogue to discuss all issues, pointing out to agreement of delaying parliamentary elections based on a request of the JMP.

The GPC accused the JMP of putting obstacles to carry out the deal which was signed with the JMP in February of 2009.

In the conference, a statement of the alliance of the national democratic parties and the GPC was read in which the GPC reconfirmed his commitment with the deal signed with JMP in February of 2009.

The statement confirmed readiness of the GPC and alliance for dialogue with all political parties and CSOs over agreed points related to reform of the electoral system.

The alliance warned any one from mishandling with security and development of the nation, saying that the president Ali Abdullah Saleh and GPC and parties of alliance called already for reforms.They said that president Saleh is a founder of modern Yemen and achieved a lot for the nation such as unity, democracy, and economic and social development.The GPC and alliance expressed their disappointment over position of the JMP over current development in Saada, saying that it was expected that the JMP would stand with the Yemeni people to bring an end for the rebellion in Saada province.They called on all parties and CSOs to spread culture of respecting law and constitution as they are references to deal with different issues.They urged Yemeni people inside and outside to stand against any in one try to destroy interests of the nation.
