[The Source: Seiyoun/hadhramaut.info - 03/09/2009] Preparations are under way to establish a private university in  Wadi Hadhramaut as to implement the  directives of His Excellency President Ali Abdullah Saleh - President of the Republic. His Excellency always pays attention and  a priority to higher and technical education. for the service of development and community. This was said by Chairman of the Preparatory Commission for the establishment of the university in Wadi, Dr.  Mohamed Ashour Al-kathiri to Yemen News Agency (SABA) - there are compelling reasons which require the establishment of such university in the wadi as the area is a vast geographical place in the province of Hadramout, as well as it has a higher percantage  population of up to about seven hundred thousand people He indicated that,  the national dimension, which will be  represented  by the university and  its absorption of secondary school education output from schools in the Wadi and the Sahraaa , that reached 12,932 students  within  the past five years . He pointed out that the establishment of the scientific edifice will restore and revive the role of academic and scientific leadership to the region, as well as the presence of other features makes the Wadi a center of learning, such as its connection by roads  and     several other means of transport to a number of provinces. Dr Alkatiri noted that  within this year  women's college will open iots doors in Wadi Hadhramaut, to be added to the faculties of Education and Applied Sciences and a center for honey , palm dates and dates. As  all these are  primarily for six  colleges - education, science, languages, Administrative Sciences, Agriculture and College for Computer Science as well .. He pointed out that there is a space to accommodate the facilities within Al-ghuraf   university campus in Tarim District.
