http://www.english.hadhramaut.info WB allocates $ 4mln to support coastal areas management [The Source: sabaanews.net - 17/08/2009] World Bank (WB) announced on Monday the allocation of a grant of $ 4 million to support the management of coastal areas in Yemen.
At a meeting held between the Fisheries Wealth Minister Mohammad Shamlan with the Coastal Zone Management at the WB Kanta Kumari, WB official made clear that the grant aims to develop the conditions of coastal communities.The provision of main requirements which will improve the living conditions of fishermen as well as increasing the production quantities and developing its quality will boost the fishermen incomes and progress the coastal communities conditions.For his part, the Minister hailed the WB's support for fisheries sector in Yemen, affirming the importance of the grant in developing the fishermen situations in the targeted areas.The meeting dealt with the WB's current arrangements for promoting the experience exchange in the fisheries areas between Yemen and China through organizing mutual visits between the two countries' experts.Exchanging the visits between Yemen and China aims to develop the fisheries sector in Yemen and availing from the Chinese experience in this field.
