Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramout, has extended his congratulations to the people of Hadramout and the entire nation on the 63rd anniversary of the glorious October 14 Revolution—a historic milestone that stands as a defining national landmark in the struggle for liberation from colonialism, the restoration of national sovereignty, and the building of the state.
Al-Khanbashi emphasized that this national occasion brings to mind the immense sacrifices made by the people of the southern governorates—including those who were martyred or wounded—in pursuit of freedom and independence, and to secure the people’s inherent right to live with liberty and dignity. He stressed that honoring these sacrifices requires drawing inspiration from the values of the revolution to strengthen national cohesion, safeguard achievements, build state institutions, and fulfill the citizens' aspirations for security, stability, and development. Furthermore, the Presidential Leadership Council member and Governor of Hadramout reaffirmed the legitimacy of the "Southern Issue," describing it as a fundamental political and national matter that demands a fair and responsible resolution. He underscored the necessity of addressing the legitimate aspirations and rights of the people of the South, and ensuring their inclusion in any comprehensive political settlement. This, he noted, should be achieved through serious dialogue that leads to equitable and sustainable solutions—free from exclusion or marginalization—thereby cementing a genuine national partnership and preserving the country’s security and stability. Al-Khabashi praised the victories achieved by the armed forces—across their various branches—on the fields of honor and dignity as part of Operation "Dawn of Yemen." He lauded the sacrifices made by their personnel in confronting threats to the nation’s security and stability, and underscored the importance of unifying efforts and strengthening coordination among military and security units to help restore state institutions, consolidate security, and protect citizens. Furthermore, Al-Khabashi condemned the attacks launched by the Houthi militias against civilian objects and vital infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He emphasized that targeting civilians and civilian facilities poses a threat to regional security and stability, and constitutes a violation of relevant international rules and laws. Moreover, he expressed the solidarity of Hadhramaut—and the entire nation—with the Kingdom in the face of these assaults, stressing the need for a firm international stance to deter such acts and prevent their continuation.
