Presidential Leadership Council member and Governor of Hadramawt, Mr. Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, met today in Al-Mukalla with the Security Advisor and Director of the UN Office of Security and Safety, Mr. George Altoris, to discuss efforts to secure the safety of UN and international organization staff operating in the governorate, and mechanisms to enhance security coordination to ensure their safe movements and the continuity of their humanitarian and development activities and programs.

Governor Al-Khanbashi affirmed the local authority's commitment to providing a safe and stable environment for the work of UN agencies and international organizations, and to providing all forms of support and facilities that enable them to carry out their humanitarian and development missions. He praised the existing partnership with the UN and its contributions to supporting the service and development sectors in the governorate.

The meeting also addressed several aspects related to strengthening coordination between security agencies and UN entities, and mechanisms for exchanging information and joint coordination to enhance safety and security, and improve the efficiency of implementing programs and projects that serve the people of Hadramawt. The meeting was attended by the commander of the Second Military Region, Major General Mohammed Al-Yamani, the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Hadramawt Governorate, Ambassador Saleh Al-Bahsani, and the Director General of Security and Police of the Hadramawt Coast, Brigadier General Abdulaziz Al-Jabri.
