Yemen and Morocco talked on means of activating their investment cooperation relations and encouraging businessmen in both countries to set up joint projects.
In a meeting held here on Saturday, the Industry and Trade Minister Yahya al-Mutawakel discussed with Moroccan Minister of External Commerce Mustapha Mechahouri the available opportunities to encourage Yemeni and Moroccan investors to achieve joint commercial activities.
Al-Mutawakel briefed Mechahouri on Yemen's efforts to boost the national industrial and productive ground and ways adopted to attract investments, pointing to the industrial zones the government has made available for investors.
Al-Mutawakel welcomed Moroccan trade and investments in Yemen, affirming that all services and facilities are available in the industrial zones according to the investment law of Yemen.
"Such zones help investors establish investments because they can get all necessary services to make such investments a success according to the investment law which is the best among Arab ones," said al-Mutawakel.
Al-Mutawakel also talked about the latest amendments to the investment law which allow foreign businessmen to invest in Yemen, without necessarily getting Yemeni partners.
This would be a key factor to attract more Arab and foreign businessmen to have businesses in the country, he said.
Yemen is a promising large market before products, he added.
Mechahouri praised developments which Yemen has witnessed in all fields, hoping that the Yemeni-Moroccan economic and commercial ties would witness more development.
Mechahouri thanked Yemen's efforts and stands to support the Moroccan city of Tanja to host the International 2012 Show.
