http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Yemen, Total to survey antiquities in Hadramout [The Source: sabanews.net - 31/07/2009]  The General Authority of Antiquities and Museums (GAAM) in cooperation with the French Total Company is to commence on August 09 an archaeological survey in Masilah area of Hadramout governorate. The GAAM head Abdullah Ba-Wazir told the weekly 26 September that the Yemeni-French joint archaeological team is to document the archaeological sites and monuments in the area.
On the other hand, Ba-Wazir said that the authority, Total Company, the French archaeological team and the French Center for Archeology and Social Sciences have signed an agreement on improving Say'aon Museum under the finance of Total.
The agreement includes restoration of antiquities, train Yemeni cadres and provide the requisite equipments to establish two laboratories for antiquity restoration.
Total has already financed a restoration operation of two Bronze lions in Louvre Museum, Paris. The lions will be exhibited in the Museum for six months before coming back home, according to the agreement, BA-Wazir said
