Presidential Leadership Council member and Governor of Hadramaut, Mr. Salem Al-Khanbashi, announced the signing of an agreement with Gulf International Electric Power Company to boost the governorate's electricity grid by a total capacity of 200 megawatts, with 100 megawatts allocated to the Hadramaut coast and 100 megawatts to the Hadramaut Valley.
Mr. Al-Khanbashi explained that the agreement comes within the framework of the local authority's efforts to address the challenges facing the electricity sector, especially with the increasing demand for power. 
He noted that the agreement benefited from the active participation of the leading national company, Al-Masila Petroleum Exploration and Production Company (PetroMasila). Future plans for expanding electricity transmission networks were also discussed with the company, leveraging its pioneering experience in the energy sector.
A member of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed his deep appreciation for the role played by PetroMasila Company, commending its significant logistical efforts that contributed to the successful signing of the agreement and its ongoing support for bringing power and enhancing service stability in the governorate. 
He emphasized that the project represents a strategic step towards stabilizing the electricity system across all districts of the governorate.

He also extended his gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, as well as the Kingdom's leadership, government, and people, for their supportive stances through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, their commitment to stabilizing electricity services, and their efforts in the cooperation mechanism that led to the signing of this agreement. This strengthens the development partnership and serves the people of Hadramawt.

Al-Khanbashi confirmed that work will commence soon, with the installation of generators and the completion of technical and procedural arrangements. He also stressed the importance of facilitating the local authority's efforts to begin implementation promptly, emphasizing the need for close monitoring of all technical procedures to ensure rapid completion according to the highest standards. This will contribute to alleviating the suffering of citizens and achieving sustainable stability in electricity services in the coastal and valley regions of Hadramaut. 
This agreement comes in response to the frequent outages and generation shortages in the electricity system, and to develop practical solutions to end the suffering of citizens during the coming summer, and to ensure the stability and continuity of electricity services in various areas of the Hadramaut coast and valley.
