The Governor of Hadramawt and Chairman of the Governorate's Security Committee, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madhi, laid the foundation stone today for the construction of a women's police station in the Fuwa Al-Masakin area of ​​Mukalla. This is a significant step towards strengthening specialized security infrastructure in Hadramawt Governorate.


The new station aims to provide a specialized and suitable work environment for female security personnel. The project includes two temporary detention rooms that respect the privacy of detainees, a training hall to enhance the skills of female police officers, and fully equipped administrative offices for case management.

This project is funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Construction is expected to be completed within five months.

Governor bin Madhi emphasized that building a dedicated women's police station in Mukalla is a pressing security and social necessity, reflecting the local authority's strong commitment to empowering women in the security sector. The governor emphasized that this center will contribute to activating the role of female police officers in addressing violations and enhancing public security. It will also provide a supportive environment for delivering security and legal services to women, families, and children, particularly in cases of family and juvenile protection. Furthermore, it will ensure that sensitive cases concerning women and children are handled with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism, guaranteeing the preservation of their dignity and rights. The governor, accompanied by the Director General of Security and Police for the Hadramawt Coast, Brigadier General Mutie Al-Manhali, and the Deputy Director General of Security and Police for the Hadramawt Coast and Director of Security for Mukalla, Colonel Salah Al-Mashjari, witnessed a parade of female police officers.

The governor and security leaders listened to a detailed explanation of the nature of the work and performance of the female police officers and their active role in addressing violations, presented by Captain Intisar Al-Asad Ba'isa, Director of the Family and Juvenile Protection and Women's Police Department at the General Directorate of Security for the Hadramawt Coast. The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by the Deputy Governor for Technical Affairs, Engineer Amin Barziq, the Deputy Governor for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Basrih, and the Assistant Deputy Governor, Fahmi Badawi.
