The Governor of Hadhramaut, Mr. Mabkhot Mubarak bin Madi, reviewed the progress of construction work on Phase II of the Khor Al Mukalla Tourism Project.
This came during a meeting held today with the management of the Yemeni Al Amoudi Group for Contracting and Trading Limited. During the meeting, he listened to a detailed explanation from Professor Zaki Ibrahim, Director of the Consulting Office and Designer of Phase II of the project. Ibrahim reviewed the project plan and the work completed and ongoing.
He noted that all concrete work on the Al Munawara Suspension Bridge has been completed. The bridge, including entrances and exits, is 150 meters long, has three openings, and is 22 meters wide. It consists of two lanes, each with a capacity of three cars. Preparations are underway to build sidewalks and asphalt paving in preparation for the opening of the bridge and the new secondary roads, which will connect the Al Munawara line to the Book Tour line.
The meeting also discussed the newly constructed secondary roads and the directions of secondary and parallel roads, which will help prevent traffic congestion in Mukalla if work begins on the Chinese Bridge site. Details of the next phase of the project were also discussed, as well as the sewage problems near the creek project site and proposed solutions. He was accompanied during the visit by Hadhramaut Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, Eng. Amin Barziq; Director General of Mukalla City Directorate, Eng. Saleh Al-Omari; Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Amoudi Yemeni Contracting and Trading Group, Sheikh Abdul Qader Saeed Al-Amoudi; and the Group's General Manager, Mr. Shafiq Hussein Al-Amoudi, along with a number of engineers and specialists involved in the project.
