FM discusses with Italian counterpart latest developments in Yemen

Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ahmad Awadh bin Mubarak
discussed Thursday with Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and
International Cooperation Luigi Di Maio means of promoting and enhancing
mutual relations between the two countries in different fields.
Bin Mubarak reviewed latest political, security and humanitarian developments and efforts exerted for realizing peace, pointing out to Houthi militia's military escalation in Marib and their rejection to peace initiatives.
He also pointed out to Safir Oil Tanker issue, which is posing serious potential environmental and economic threat to Yemen over Houthi militia's rejection to UN technical team to evaluate and for draining the long-stranded tanker on the Red Sea from one billion barrel of crude oil.
He briefed Italian minister on government's efforts it exerts for implementing Riyadh Agreement as significance step to normalize economic and security conditions and unifying efforts to realize peace, praising Italian position supporting the government of Yemen for regaining the state and ending the coup and Italian contribution in international efforts for humanitarian response in Yemen.
For his part, the Italian foreign minister confirmed his country's support to the internationally recognized government in Yemen and to efforts exerted by the UN Envoy to realize peace and end the war in the country.
