http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Saleh meets U.S., France, China envoys [The Source: www.sabanews.net - 27/06/2009] President Ali Abdullah Saleh met separately Saturday with ambassadors of the US, France and China The discussions dealt with means to develop the bilateral relationship with each country. The US, France and China expressed their support for development in Yemen as well as Yemen's unity and stability. During his meeting with the US envoy Stephen Seche, Saleh renewed calls for sending Gitmo's Yemeni detainees home, saying Yemen strongly resists a US plan to transfer the detainees to rehabilitation centers in other states. The two also dealt with several economic and political cooperation issues topped by finding new ways to develop anti-terror partnership. During the farewell meeting with the French diplomat Gilles Gauthier, Saleh praised Gauthier's efforts to help boost the Yemeni-French ties. Saleh also praised the efforts the Chinese ambassador to Yemen has been doing in the interest of the two friendly countries. The meeting came on the farewell of China's envoy to Yemen Luo Xiaoguang. Xiaoguang expressed his country's unlimited support for Yemen's unity, saying China considers the unity as a regional accomplishment that helps bring stability and peace to the whole region.
