of local authorities in the capital Sana'a and other governorates for 2009 are to start next Monday on June 1 – 11. The sub-conferences organized by Ministry of Local Administration within the Fifth General Conference of the Local Councils will discuss aspects of enhancing development and presenting services in the local administrative units.They will focus on studying papers and evaluative reports on the local authority performance and identifying issues that should be reported to the General Conference of Local Councils. The sub-conferences consist of 16,325 members, among them 7,440 are local councils' members and the rest represents members of parliament and Shura Council and representatives of the administrative, civil, military, security leaderships, civil society organizations and academicians. The sub-conferences to be held for two days in each governorate will discuss the national strategy of local governance and its execution program, papers on the local councils' developmental achievements, and the future developmental challenges as well as studying aspects related to planning, local development management and improving financial resources management. According to the timetable, the sub-conferences will be inaugurated in governorates of Hadramout, Jawf, Hodeidah and Baidha'a followed by governorates of Shabwa, Sana'a, Ibb, Aden, Hajjah and Mahweet on 3rd and 4th of June. The governorates of Dhamar, Mahrah, Abyan, Sa'ada and Marib will hold their sub-conferences on 6th and 7th of June and the governorates of Raymah, Dalei and Amran on 8th and 9th of June.
