The YWU continue the implementation of  awareness-raising sessions for female prisoners in order to familiarize them with the proceedings of the cases in the courts and public prosecution.

The awareness raising within the framework of the legal support project for female prisoners and juveniles in the central prison that is carried out by the Yemeni Women's Union, supported by Penal Reform International.

The session was attended by a representative of the Legal Department of the Executive Office of the YWU, who discussed the issues of prisoners in terms of the type of case, the government and the judiciary, through which their cases will be monitored and legal assistance provided through the lawyers' Yemen and a close knowledge of the needs of female prisoners.

She stressed the keenness of the YWU to pursue their issues and provide psychological and legal support services, economic empowerment and life skills.
