Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulmalik
al-Mikhlafi discussed on Tuesday with Director of the UN Office for
Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) George Khouri coordination
between Yemen and the office on tackling humanitarian panic.
Al-Mikhlafi
reviewed government's efforts for facing humanitarian crisis resulted
by Houthi war on the Yemeni people and its keenness on working with all
international organizations for coordinating efforts as government's
duty towards all Yemeni people from Sa'ada to Mahra without exception.
He expressed government's appreciation for efforts exerted by the UN
and its different organizations for helping Yemeni people, showing
readiness of coordinating efforts, whether on local or government level,
for facilitating obstacles faced by international organizations in
Yemen.
He confirmed that all are keen on arrival of
enough humanitarian assistance to Yemeni secured ports, especially the
Port of Aden as a facility close to heavy populated areas.
He stressed on setting up transparent mechanisms for distributing aid
and putting an end to trading with humanitarian relief, selling them in
black market and arresting relief workers by Houthi militia.
For his part, Khouri expressed thanks to the government of Yemen for
providing necessary facilitations to UN organizations.
He confirmed that the future cooperation will be based on full coordination with the government and its institutions.
