In a statement on the "third anniversary of the Yemeni catastrophe that unfolded in 21st September 2014", al-Eryani said, "Yemen experienced the biggest setback in its history since its win over the Imamite rule in 26 September 1962."

The Saleh-Houthi militias stormed the Yemeni capital Sana'a on 21 September 2014, put President Abdu R. Mansour Hadi and members of the Yemeni Cabinet under house arrest before they expanded to Aden, killing and abducting oppositionists in thousands, detonating buildings and recruiting large numbers of child soldiers in the way turning them to lethal killers.

Al-Erynai thanked the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia for rushing to the rescue of the Republic. He vowed that the commemoration of the misfortunate day will not last long as a counter revolution will soon uproot the new Imamites, under the inspiration of the anniversary of the defeat of their ancestors, 26 September, which is also to be commemorated within days.
