Nigerian striker Robert Akuraye scored
a brace as Busaiteen chalked up a 3-0 win against Al Tilal at Bahrain national stadium to qualify for the knockout stages of the AFC Cup.Akuraye opened the scoring after 64 minutes and Abdulwahab Ali doubled their advantage one minute later before Akuraye sealed the win in the 72nd minute to steer Busaiteen into the last 16. Busaiteen dominated the entire opening period and could have taken an early lead after only two minutes when Bosnian midfielder Aleksandar Andic had a sight of goal but fired wide.The home side had another chance after 13 minutes when Akaruye collected a ball inside the area but his shot was saved by Al Tilal goalkeeper Farag Ba Yashot.Busaiteen came even closer to breaking the deadlock after 21 minutes when Andic whipped in a free-kick from the left which Al Tilal defender Karam Riyadeh headed against the frame of his own goal.Two minutes later, Khaled Omar picked up a pass inside the area but struck his effort wide when well placed.Althoug it seemed only a matter of time before Busaiteen went in front, the best chance of the first half actually fell to Al Tilal after 34 minutes. Khaled Hasan latched onto a loose ball following a clearance but his snap shot shot slammed the crossbar. Busaiteen were again denied by the woodwork just before the break when Andic hit the right upright directly form a corner as the first 45 minutes ended goalless. The deadlock was eventually broken four minutes after the hour mark when Ghazi Al Kawari's corner from the left was headed home by Akaruye. Busaiteen extended their lead almost immediately when Mohamad Saif found Ali in the box and he scored with a first-time volley.The home side kept up the pressure and were rewarded with a third 18 minutes from time when Akuraye's powerful strike from outside the box found the back of the net with the aid of a deflection
