http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Yemen, WB discuss supporting anti-corruption efforts [The Source: SANA'A\Hadhramaut\Saba - Tuesday -13/Jan./2015] Minister of Justice Khalid Bajnaid discussed here on Tuesday with a World Bank (WB) delegation the support that could be provided to enhance the anti-corruption efforts in Yemen.

The two sides underscored the importance of assigning judges and establishing specialized courts in the cases of corruption and public funds, as well as building the capacity of the judges in this field.

At the meeting, the minister Bajnaid stressed the importance of community partnership and respect for the law in order to fight corruption, noting that combating corruption is a priority in building a modern civil state.

Bajnaid confirmed that his ministry is ready to cooperate in the establishment of specialized anti-corruption courts and expand their powers, pointing that he will raise that at the Supreme Judicial Council in coordination with the Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption.

The WB's delegation expressed its keenness to support Yemen's efforts in combating corruption and to help the country's judicial bodies in this area.
