http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Progress in Yemen's accession to SUN movement discussed [The Source: SANA'A\Hadhramaut\Saba - Wednesday -07/Jan./2015] Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohamed al-Maitami discussed on Tuesday with representatives of the UN organizations working in Yemen the progress in Yemen's accession to the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement. The meeting reviewed the progress made in the procedures of Yemen's accession to the SUN movement, which was launched in November, 2012, as well as the discussion of issues related to the cooperation between Yemen and UNICEF. Al-Maitami confirmed that the reduction of the humanitarian consequences resulting from the nutritional problem in Yemen is one of the most prominent government priorities. He indicated to the tireless efforts made by his ministry to complete the preparation of a multi-sectoral national plan for implementing the priorities related to reducing the malnutrition effects in Yemen and raising the reality of motherhood and childhood in Yemen. For his part, Director of Health and Nutrition Programs at UNICEF office in Sana'a Iqbal Kabir reiterated the organization's keenness to continue to provide support to Yemen.
