GCC foreign ministers thrash out Yemeni developments

The Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs Khaled bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah said on Tuesday that foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council discussed development of situations in the Yemeni arena.
This was mentioned in a joint press conference with the GCC Secretary General Abdul-Latif Al-Zayyani at the end of the 133rd preparatory round of the Ministerial Council to prepare for the 35th round of the Higher Council of the GCC leaders to be held in Doha next month.
“Developments and security and political changes in the regional and international arenas, specially the Arab region, were discussed in the meetings, specially the Palestinian case, Syrian crisis, and the situations in Libya, Iraq and Yemen,” Al-Attiyah said.
Regarding the joint meeting of the GCC foreign ministers with the Yemeni Foreign Minister Abdullah al-Saidi, Al-Attiyah said that, “the meeting shed light on the situations in Yemen based on a report presented by the Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs.”
“We underscored the importance of supporting Yemen and refused any interference in any of its internal affairs,” Qatari Foreign Minister, Al-Attiyah, said in the press conference.
He renewed the GCC rejecting stance of religious or political sectarianism, in addition to terrorism.
For his part, the GCC Secretary General, Al-Zayyani, pointed out that the GCC foreign ministers also discussed with, al-Saidi, developments of situations in Yemen in a bid to promote the peaceful political process and to support Yemen’s efforts in the present phase.
