http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Improving Yemen's agriculture discussed [The Source: SANA'A\Hadhramaut\Saba - Tuesday -25/Nov./2014]  Minister of Agriculture Farid Mujawar discussed on Tuesday with the Director of USAID's CASH Project Mohammad Elias supporting agriculture and boosting its food security role.

The meeting discussed a mechanism to support and help the government in implementing its plans in agriculture.

Mujawar briefed Elias on the ministry's activities associated with plant production, animal wealth, solar energy system, green houses and modern irrigation systems and other technologies for increasing productivity and improving farmers' income.

Minister Mujawar highlighted the role of the USAID and its support to agricultural development, reaffirming Yemen's need of the agency's support to agriculture as a vital and promising sector.

Elias voiced the agency's keenness on providing necessary support to Yemen's plans and programs aiming at improving citizens' income in rural areas, as well providing agricultural development with what it needs to help in enhancing food security.

On the other hand, Minister of Agriculture Farid Mujawar discussed with the Indian Ambassador to Yemen Amrit Lugun activating memo of understanding between the two countries in field of exchanging agricultural expertise.

The two parts discussed possible projects and investments in manufacturing vegetables and fruits in Yemen.
