Dr Fadhl al-Akwaa revealed Wednesday offering Yemen 75 seats for higher studies annually in Syria and in different specialties a part of protocol signed between Yemen and Syria in 2005 and will begin this year,.Al-Akwaa also pointed out 35 grants for treatment annually to be awarded to Yemen. He also said there would be free of charge training courses to be granted to Yemen in all medical fields. He made it clear that the visit to Syria recently by President Ali Abdullah Saleh has come out with good results in the area of medical cooperation between the two countries and exchange of expertise. He added that the beginning of activating the protocol on medical cooperation began in late of last February by sending a medical team composed of 15 Syrian doctors to Yemen to conduct 65 heart surgical operations, catheterization operations and other types of medical operations.
