Under the first two agreements, China gives Yemen an amount of $32 million, half of which is a grant and the other is a long-term no interest loan. The whole sum is located to finance a number of developmental projects. The third agreement stipulates a 97% custom exemption for Yemeni products exported to China. The three agreements were signed, in the presence of Prime Minister Khaled Bahah, by Minister of Trade and Industry Mohammed al-Saadi and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammed al-Maitami and Chinese ambassador to Yemen Chang Hua. After the signing ceremony, Bahah expressed high appreciation of the Chinese support for Yemen over the past decades, saying that the agreements showed the mutual keenness to enhance the cooperation relations between Yemen and China in various development, economic and commercial fields.
