French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner left Sana'a on Saturday
after a short visit to Yemen, in which he met with President Saleh and a number of governmental officials. Upon his departure, Kouchner said to Saba that French attitude supports Yemen's stance relating to the necessity of the unity of the Palestinians, call of ceasefire in Gaza and work in the sake of establishing Palestinian free and independent state. During rebuilding of Gaza conference in Cairo on upcoming 2nd March we hope to renew the call for ceasefire and we will work to achieve success in the Palestinian two factions' unity, we the French are willing just like Yemenis and intend to establish a Palestinian free independent state, Kouchner said. His visit to Sana'a was aimed to deepen friendly relations between the two countries and continuation for a number of projects which are to be agreed on later during exchanging visits expected to be paid by President Saleh and Sarkozy within upcoming periods of 2009.
