http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Conference on Arab trade liberalization concluded in Sana'a [The Source: www.sabanews.net - 18/2/2009] The forth Arab conference on the future of Arab trade liberalization negotiations under the umbrella of World Trade Organization (WTO) concluded its activities on Tuesday in Sana'a.
At the conference conclusion, the participants demanded speeding up the Arab procedures to complete the requirements to carry out the Arab Free Trade Zone and the Arab Customs Union as well as finalizing the negotiations for liberalizing Arab service trade to support Arab economies while negotiation.
In the three-day conference organized by the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) in collaboration with Ministry of Industry and Trade, the participants affirmed the significance of calling on Arab governmental bodies to adopt a unified negotiating position supporting Arab states' interests, pointing to the importance of working on obtaining the Arab League the observing member character in the WTO.
The conference recommendations urged all Arab States who are members in the WTO to participate in the task forces' meeting for joining the Arab states seeking to join to the WTO, noting that joining to the WTO should be within a clear developmental strategy aiming mainly to rising human development.
The recommendations also called on the concerned parts from private sectors, academic bodies and civil society organizations should take part in the accession negotiations through arranging periodical counseling meetings with them to know their opinions on the best ways for joining that would serve the goals of economical and social development.
