http://www.english.hadhramaut.info President Hadi, sheikhs, dignitaries, review Houthi escalation [The Source: SANA’A\Hadhramaut\Saba - Saturday -06/Sept./2014 ] President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received on Saturday a number of Sheikhs, dignitaries and social figures from all over Yemen.


In the meeting the President reviewed the latest of developments in the country in light of Houthis continued escalation in and around the capital Sana'a which aim to destabilize the public tranquility and threaten the security and stability.

He briefed them on challenges and difficulties that Yemen is facing, especially after the Houthi group set up tents in and at the entrances of the capital.

“Sana'a is the capital of all Yemenis. It is the capital of the republic, unity and democracy,” Hadi said. He stressed that keeping security and stability in Sana’a is the duty of everyone.
"Some people do not want Sana'a to live in security and stability. They want to set Sana’a on fire, like Damascus, Baghdad and Libya," he said.

Hadi said that Iran support destabilization acts in Yemen and called upon Iran to be beside the Yemeni people as a whole, not beside a party or group. He pointed that four TV channels, which he said are based in Beirut, support the Houthi group.

President Hadi confirmed that lifting subsidies on oil derivatives was very imperative as part of the economic reforms which approved by all political and social powers in the country along with the Yemeni government to avert the collapse of the country's economy. He said that the state's public treasury was not able to bear more financial burdens due to covering oil derivatives subsidies.

All attendees expressed their support to all steps taken by President Hadi to preserve the country’s security and stability. They appreciated Hadi’s efforts to get the country out of the current critical situation to avert the country from being dragged into a civil war and violence.
