For his part, Minister of Education Abdul-Salam al-Jawfi reviewed the ministry's achievements since starting implementing the national strategy for basic education in October 2003. The strategy is supplied by the government and donors. "10,000 teachers have been qualified. 5,000 schools have been built and 67,000 new teachers have been employed besides distributing 600,000 chairs, 1400 laboratories and thousands of bags and educational requirements," said al-Jawfi. 450,000 female students across the country have benefited from the World Food Program, he added. 2, 3 million basic education students have been benefited for from the strategy.
