http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Training course on discarding violence, fighting extremism [The Source: www.sabanews.net - 4/2/2009] A training course entitled "Discarding Violence and Facing Extremism Culture" began on Tuesday.
The course, which is organized by Dar al-Salam Organization ( DAO) with support from Dutch embassy in Yemen, is participated by 50 persons from civil society organizations.
The course aims at limiting effects of religions extremism, violence issues in the society and giving participants information on works of public relations of peace activists in the organization and projects and programs of the organization.
The course also aims at communication with media institutions and providing them with necessary information besides communication with volunteers and supplying them with information and statistic related to the work of the organization.
In the inauguration ceremony of the course, Head of DAO Abdurahman al-Marwani affirmed that the activities organized by the organization come in the framework of supporting a strategy the organization will carry out during the forthcoming years.
" Qualifying peace activists from different civil society organizations is included within the main aims of the organizations for fighting revenge, violence and extremist ideas beside settling tribal differences," said al-Marwani.
For his part, Executive Director of the DAO Anwar al-Absi noted that relations and communication with targeted bodies represents great problem to the organization. However, it would be solved within the programs of the course.
