http://www.english.hadhramaut.info President calls on political parties to take part in coming elections without conditions [The Source: www.hadhramaut.info - 4/2/2009] President Ali Abdullah Saleh called on Tuesday all political forces to take part in coming parliamentary elections without putting irresponsible conditions and demands.
During a meeting held in Marib for center governorates of Marib, al-Jaof and Shabwa, president Saleh delivered a speech in which he said that the country would witness parliamentary elections within few coming months, calling on all to participate in the elections.
President Saleh also pointed out to the democratic and development achievements in the nation, saying that there are now more than 7,000 members of local councils across the country.
He described Marib, al-Jaof and Shabwa as governorates of welfare, security and peace, praised role of these governorates in protecting revolution, republican system, unity, freedom and democracy.
Regarding the terrorism, president Saleh said that the terrorism is "epidemic" that damages development, security and stability in the society, affirming importance of cooperation between citizens and the state to combat the terror.
He also highlighted position of these governorates as main sources of energy and tourism.
Gas from Marib and oil from Shabwa, president said, antiquities in Marib, al-Jaof and Shabwa, it should be a lot of tourists there, but terrorism impacts the national economy and delays the development process as well as kill Spanish and Belgium innocents and others.
He called citizens of these governorates to combat terror, and the army would support them in order to protect interests of the nation.
President called on youths of Shabwa, Abyan, Hadramout, al-Dali and Radfan to protect the unification from rioters and mercenary.
Fighting them like what you did in 1994 war, he said.
Then, president Saleh paid a visit to the President Hospital in Marib city where he urged officials of the hospital to continue efforts of improving the medical services for the citizens. He also visited agricultural institute in the governorate which was set up at YR 800 million.
Moreover, president Saleh attended a training project on live ammunitions organized by the sub-units of the Special Forces and Republican Guards at Jadan training center.
After the training, president Saleh highlighted performance of the units, wishing continuation of this excellent work. He said that the military institution is one of the key samples of the national unity as it includes soldiers from all regions of the country.
He said that the institution is a "safety valve" of revolution, republic, unification, liberty and democracy, confirming support and care of the political leadership for this institution. He concluded his speech by wishing success for all.
